After opening remarks from Artur Hefner, Managing Director at COMI, and Fabian Plentz, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Rutronik, attendees experienced live demonstrations of two AI-powered solutions developed by COMI and Rutronik:
- Vision AI Document Reader: This solution automates the capture of delivery notes and can handle over 1,000 formats with adaptable AI models. This significantly reduces the manual workload and minimizes errors in data entry.
- Vision AI Label Reader: Uses camera-based recognition to extract product information, such as trace codes and date codes. This enables structured data processing and full traceability.
The supply chain experts from Rutronik, including Patrick Krätz, Head of Supply Chain Management, Roman Wolf, Team Leader Supply Chain Management, and Mario Berenbold, Supply Chain Manager, together with Florian Buk, AI Project Manager at COMI, and Lukas Meyer, Customer Solutions Manager at COMI, were available during the entire event to answer in-depth questions about intelligent supply chain solutions. After the live demos of both readers, Rutronik colleagues from the logistics center in Eisingen provided the participants with a guided tour of the logistics center for deeper insights into how AI is integrated into daily operations.
With up to 180 pallets arriving daily and a wide variety of document formats, Rutronik's logistics team greatly benefits from the AI-supported readers, which streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency. The AI Vision Day once again highlighted the transformative potential of AI in logistics and reaffirmed Rutronik's commitment to automation and digital transformation.
