The devices operate at up to 180 MHz (entry-level series: up to 100 MHz). They combine the advantages of DSPs (digital signal processors) and FPUs (floating point units), enhancing computational performance and precision.
In addition, the devices include advanced real-time peripherals, including:
- High-performance, programmable analog subsystem
- Five comparators with built-in 10-bit DAC and slope generator < 10 ns
- Advanced timers with high resolution capability
- Up to six serial communication blocks (SCB)
- Two CAN FDs, one with 8 Mbps
Depending on application requirements, the components support one active and five low-power modes for managing and reducing energy consumption. They are PSA L2-certified with crypto accelerator, TrustZone, key management, and secure storage for various security options, and feature high autonomous and analog sampling rates with full control flexibility and digital IPs.
The controllers have up to 50 GPIOs (general purpose input/output) (or up to 39 GPIOs in the entry series) with programmable control modes, strengths, and rise rates, and up to 28 pins (up to 22 pins in the entry series) supporting Smart I/O programmable logic, and up to 16 dedicated analog pins.
The MCUs are available in VQFN-48, E-LQFP-48, VQFN-64, E-LQFP-64, or E-LQFP-80 packages. They are designed for a supply voltage range of 1.71 V to 3.6 V and operate reliably at ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 105 °C.
Further benefits:
- 12-bit, 12 Msps SAR ADC (entry series: 6 Msps SAR ADC) with parallel idle sampling of up to 16 analog channels
- 16 x 16-bit and 4 x 32-bit TCPWM (timer/counter pulse width modulator) with 80 ps HighRes-option
- Improved routing flexibility with a combinatorial trigger multiplexing unit
- 256 KB read-while-write flash with ECC support
- Low-Power operating modes down to 300 nA: Sleep, Deep Sleep (three modes) and Hibernate
- Security: PSA L2-certified; configurable flash partitioning and protection
- Safety test libraries according to Class B and SIL 2 are available
