The new HM216xNL series includes single- and dual-channel transformers for functional and basic insulation, addressing the growing demands of modern battery management systems in automotive, industrial and energy storage applications. The components are specifically designed for galvanic isolation between high-voltage battery stacks and BMS control circuits, enabling safe and reliable communication and monitoring concepts.
A key feature of the series is its new header design, which ensures consistent manufacturing quality and improved reliability. The transformers are produced in a fully automated manufacturing process and comply with IEC 61558 and IEC/UL 62368-1 standards. In addition, the devices are AEC-Q200 qualified and manufactured on TS16949-certified production lines.
The series is optimized for leading BMS chipsets from Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, NXP and Infineon, simplifying integration into existing platforms. Thanks to footprints compatible with current YAGEO Group BMS products, existing designs can often be reused without major PCB layout modifications.
Depending on the variant, the transformers support working voltages from 1,000 VDC to 1,600 VDC with isolation voltages up to 4,300 VDC. Versions with or without common-mode choke and center tap are available. The components operate reliably across a temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C and withstand peak reflow soldering temperatures up to 245 °C.
The combination of compact design, long-term reliability and automotive qualification makes the HM216xNL series particularly suitable for modern high-voltage battery systems where safety, lifetime and space constraints are critical factors.
