With the upgraded KW21A series, Rutronik expands JAE’s automotive portfolio, complementing the MX81 series with another key component for the growing charging infrastructure market. The CCS2-compatible DC charging connectors KW21A are specifically designed to meet the increasing demand for fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles. They support rated charging currents of 40 A or 100 A at system voltages up to 1,000 V DC and enable bidirectional Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging. A robust plastic housing with double insulation ensures high weather resistance and maximum safety. They are now available at www.rutronik24.com.

As the main DC charging interface for Europe is the CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type-2), the KW21A series has been designed and is manufactured in Europe to support local production and supply. The connectors have achieved the CE Certification and meet the applicable safety standards. They offer a service life of up to 10,000 mating cycles, operate in a temperature range from -35 °C to +50 °C, and feature a dielectric strength of AC 3,000 V per minute.

The connector series is engineered for harsh environments, delivering a certified IP54 rating when mated, while the charger connector body excluding the interface is designed to achieve an IP67 rating for enhanced durability and environmental resistance.

For precise temperature monitoring, the connectors are equipped with an integrated Pt1000 temperature sensor according to DIN EN 60751, ensuring reliable performance even under demanding conditions.

Thanks to their ergonomic design, lightweight structure, and flexible cable routing, the KW21A series provides comfortable handling and long-lasting reliability - ideal for modern DC fast-charging applications.
