The HCB-Rutronik Racing team, sponsored by Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH, will once again compete in the FIA GT World Cup in Macao (Thursday, November 14 to Sunday, November 17) as the official Audi works team, just like it did in 2018. ADAC GT Masters winner Kelvin van der Linde will sit in the cockpit of the Audi R8 LMS GT 3 for the “Audi Sport Team Rutronik.”

HCB-Rutronik Racing will be participating in the prestigious FIA GT World Cup in the Chinese special administration region for the fourth time in a row. For sponsor Rutronik, the race offers an excellent opportunity to present itself as an innovative and technically competent company. “Racing means maximum stress under extreme conditions, which is why high-quality electronic components are absolutely essential,” explains Thomas Rudel, CEO of Rutronik.

The Racetrack as a Test Lab
This is why in addition to Rutronik, three other strong partners are supporting the team from Wilferdingen: Yageo, Recom Power, and Osram. Taiwanese manufacturer Yageo, one of the world’s largest producers of passive components and power electronics, has been a partner since Rutronik began sponsoring the team in Macao four years ago. The power supply manufacturer Recom Power, which manufactures DC/DC converters and power supplies for the automotive sector, joined the partnership last year. New to the group this year is the lighting specialist Osram Opto Semiconductors. The semiconductor manufacturer has been a leader in LEDs for automotive lighting for many years. The company’s product range stretches from high-performance LEDs for headlights and dynamic lighting solutions for automotive interiors to infrared components for LiDAR and driver monitoring applications.

Asia Plays Key Role in Rutronik’s Growth
“Rutronik continues to focus on expansion. In this context, Asia is an important part of our strategy. With over 400,000 local viewers, 900 radio stations, and around 100 TV stations with a total of 800 million viewers via TV and the Internet, the FIA GT World Cup in Macao is the perfect platform for us to present our company to a wide audience,” says Markus Krieg, CMO at Rutronik.

“We Want to Do Even Better,” says Team Leader Plentz
“We are extremely proud to once again be competing as the Audi works team and obviously want to surpass last year’s result,” says team leader Fabian Plentz. In 2018, Christopher Haase finished in an impressive sixth place for “Audi Sport Team Rutronik.”
