Vishay Film Division strengthens sustainability across the entire value chain

SAQ 5.0, the widely recognized sustainability assessment standard, confirms the strong ESG performance of Vishay Film Division. The latest version places greater emphasis on transparency, carbon footprint reporting, and responsible sourcing—areas that are increasingly important for customers and regulators alike. The assessment demonstrates that the division not only meets regulatory expectations but also aligns with the sustainability requirements of global industrial and automotive customers.

To continuously improve environmental performance, the company has implemented a broad range of measures. Investments in energy efficiency, the expansion of renewable energy use, and enhanced water and waste management systems have significantly reduced emissions since 2018. At the same time, the division is working to further improve transparency by calculating emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and developing product‑level carbon footprints and life‑cycle assessments.

Responsible sourcing remains a central pillar of the sustainability strategy. Suppliers are required to comply with the Supplier Code of Conduct and the Responsible Business Alliance standards, ensuring that raw materials are obtained ethically, free from conflict minerals, and in line with environmental and social expectations.

Looking ahead, the division plans to further strengthen its SAQ performance by expanding Scope 3 data collection, improving resource management, and integrating a comprehensive climate transition plan into its operations. The long‑term ambition is clear: a 50 % reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and a structured path toward full carbon neutrality.
