AVX TransGuard® Series Multilayer Varistors

AVX TransGuard® Series MLVs provide a wide range of reliable SMT components for bi-directional overvoltage protection with the advantage of EMI/RFI attenuation in the off-state. They are zinc oxide (ZnO) based ceramic semiconductor devices with non-linear voltage-current characteristics (bi-directional) similar to back-to-back zener diodes.

AVX produces a full range of film dielectric components - from low-power SMD solutions to medium and high-power film capacitors suited to all power electronic applications over a voltage range spanning 75V volts up to 100 kV. AVX technology includes both dry and oil-impregnated designs, based on polyester and polypropylene dielectrics.
