The MLC card S-45 of the durabit™ family uses a page based firmware and results in unprecedented endurance and random write performance for MLC technology. This card is both optimized for read intensive as well as random write intensive applications.
The S-45/S-46 firmware features include powerful built-in error correction, read retry, autonomous data care management, randomizer, wear leveling and bad block management algorithms, and intelligent power fail protection. The Swissbit SD Memory Cards are supported by the Swissbit life time monitoring for real time status information.
Applications that demand highest endurance and performance benefit from the SLC based S-450 and S-455 series. The S-450 series supports data transfer rates of up to 80 MB/s and offers the same data care features as the S-45. The S-455 series offers maximum TeraBytes Written (TBW) for small logging applications. All series fulfill UHS-I, class 10 speed grade. By only using the strong bit of an MLC cell the S-46 pSLC version increases the endurance by a factor of 6.7 against MLC and offers all the features of the S-45.

The page based flash management enables both a high performance and high write endurance. Read disturb management eliminates risk of data loss for read intensive application and makes the EM-20 ideal for application like POS/POI, PLC, IoT, gaming, medical, or as a general boot medium for embedded applications.
