S2-LP:Ultra-low-power, high-performance, sub-1GHz RF transceiver

The S2-LP is an ultra-low-power, high-performance, sub-1GHz RF transceiver from STMicroelectronics. It is designed to operate at 433, 868 and 920 MHz, but can also be programmed to operate at other additional frequencies in the 430-470 MHz, 860-940 MHz bands.

With a receiver sensitivity of -130dBm and a transmit power of up to +16dBm, the S2-LP shows an RF link budget > 140dB which makes the transceiver an ideal solution for long communication ranges.

The S2-LP is principally designed for the ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) and SRD (Short Radio Device) frequency bands, it shows topnotch RF performances and unparalleled energy efficiency extending battery life from months to more than 10 years.It is ready for SIGFOX, Wireless M-Bus, 6LowPAN and IEEE 802.15.4g networking connectivity, simplifying the design of IoT applications and enabling remote sensors to directly connect to the Cloud without a local gateway.

The S2-LP supports different modulation schemes, like the 2(G)FSK, 4(G)FSK, OOK and ASK. The air data rate is programmable from 0.3 to 500 kbps. The transceiver can be used in systems with channel spacing down to 6.25 kHz enabling ultra-narrow band operations.

The S2-LP is available in a 24 QFN 4 x 4 x 1mm package. It meets the regulatory requirements applicable in territories worldwide, including Europe, Japan, China and the USA.
