As part of my cooperative education courses in Management & Commerce at Rutronik, I have had the possibility to extend my professional experiences for four weeks abroad – Bolton calling. During my stay in Bolton, there was always time for leisure, for fun inside the team and on the job. Here are some impressions, which I have summarized for you. Let’s go…

Bolton

Personally I think the best Pub in Bolton is “Hogarths” – A large and lively town Centre pub in the centre of historic Churchgate by the Parish Church. Gin fans will be blown away with the choice on offer. Of cause there you can find a range of homemade beers as well. These will include usually more than one beer brewed in Hogarths Brewery, which is housed in what was previously the pub kitchen. The brewing vessels visible in the pub itself are purely decorative.

But it’s not the only Pub in Bolton. In town center along the main road pubs, lounges and nightclubs lined up next to each other. There is something to suit everyone's taste.

Going out @the weekend Manchester is recommendable.

Everybody told me the place to be is Manchester Chinatown because all of the UK-celebrities, football stars etc. spending their night out in clubs there – But not really. It’s nice for a day visit but not for a night-out. The best restaurants and bars are near the Town Hall – Deansgate and The North Quarter, there you can find Jamie Oliver’s restaurant and a bar called “The Alchemist” and the celebrities as well. It’s lovely there. If you want to go somewhere for the well-known “Tea Time” you definitely have to go to “Richmond Tea Room” in “Gay Village”; Manchester. It’s the best “Tea House” in town.

Inside “Richmond Tea Room” you will feel a little bit like Alice in Wonderland. It’s just gorgeous there.

NIGHTLIFE: It’s all about drinking beer in the UK…. usual clichés – Check! :-)
