Sensirion SPS30 Particulate Matter Sensor

The SPS30 is a particulate matter sensor based on the principle of laser scattering that opens up new dimensions for indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring applications.

The MCERTS-certified SPS30 particulate matter (PM) sensor uses the measuring principle of laser scattering as well as Sensirion's innovative pollution resistance technology. Due to these technologies and Sensirion's in-depth technical know-how, the SPS30 enables high-precision measurements over the entire product lifetime of more than ten years. The sensor requires neither maintenance nor cleaning.

Fine dust measurements are nowadays an important part of air quality measurement, as fine dust is a very dangerous pollutant due to its small size. Due to their size, these tiny particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and contribute to various diseases such as bronchitis or asthma over a longer period of time.

In addition to the SPS30 sensor, the SEK-SPS30 evaluation kit is also available, which consists of the sensor and a UART to USB adapter cable. This allows a simple evaluation via PC without the need of the SEK-SensorBridge.
