Ispringen (Germany), December 1, 2016 – Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH is celebrating ten years of presence in Portugal. Four members of staff at the Famalicão branch office look after domestic customers throughout the country. And the team continues to grow.

Rutronik's activities in Portugal began in 2005 when Nadia Carlino de Lima started establishing a client base from her home office. Quite successfully in fact: Today, the Country Manager, together with a team of four people, caters for a wide range of customers throughout Portugal, particularly in the automotive, industrial, telecommunications, home automation, lighting, and security sectors. A further FAE will be joining the team soon.

The official launch of Rutronik Portugal was in 2006 with the opening of the branch office in Famalicão, which is situated halfway between Porto and Braga. "The economic situation in Portugal is not so good at the present time - the team can therefore be particularly proud of the fact that it has achieved substantial growth over the last ten years and continues to do so," Country Manager Nadia Carlino de Lima says. "Portugal has been an interesting manufacturing market for international carmakers for many years. Portuguese companies are currently competing very successfully in various sectors. Rutronik's extensive product portfolio, our insight and focus on key market trends thanks to the AUTOMOTIVE, EMBEDDED, POWER, and SMART ranges, and the comprehensive support provided by our sales team and FAEs all combine to ensure we offer local companies the best possible service and help them to grow and maintain growth."

The team at Rutronik Portugal recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in style at a winery together with customers.

Rutronik's activities in Portugal were part of the company's internationalization strategy. "We started establishing ourselves as a European distributor back in 1991. We achieved our vision of expansion without external funding and therefore took things one step at a time. Our success proves we got it right: Rutronik is now a global business with over 70 subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and one of just a few large-scale distributors to remain an owner-operated and independent company," explains Thomas Rudel, CEO Rutronik.
