Sensor+Test: Rutronik exhibits extensive sensor portfolio for the Internet of Things

  Corporate News

At Sensor+Test (May 19-21, 2015, Nuremberg, Germany), Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH will be presenting an extensive portfolio of MEMS as well as magnetic and optical sensors from leading manufacturers such as Bosch Sensortec, STMicroelectronics, Panasonic, Micronas, Infineon, Vishay, and Omron under RUTRONIK SMART at Booth 229 in Hall 12. They can be used for a wide range of smart applications within the Internet of Things.

RUTRONIK SMART is Rutronik’s bundled offer of selected sensors, wireless components, microcontrollers, power management, and security solutions as well as software and services for devices within the Internet of Things (IoT). At Sensor+Test, the focus is on sensors for environmental sensing and HMI solutions.

One of the product highlights is the first integrated sensor unit for rapid, precise measurement of pressure, humidity, and temperature in a single housing: The BME280 from Bosch Sensortec was designed specially for high-performance applications such as indoor navigation, smart home, sports, and fitness applications. Just 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.93 mm3 and with a low energy consumption, it allows a high degree of design flexibility, even in mobile applications.

As a system in package (SiP), the BNO055 from Bosch Sensortec combines different sensors and Sensor Fusion in one device for simpler system integration, a quicker development time, lower development costs, and quicker times to market. In a small housing measuring just 5.2 x 3.8 x 1.1 mm3 it unites a 12-bit acceleration sensor with three degrees of freedom, a triaxial rotation rate sensor, and a 32-bit microcontroller running the FusionLib software BSX3.0. As such, it is perfect for augmented reality applications, complex computer games, health and fitness applications, indoor navigation, and all applications requiring context awareness.

For measuring the temperature, RUTRONIK SMART will be offering the first SMD thermopile array sensor Grid-EYE from Panasonic. With 64 thermopile elements it allows extremely accurate, contract-free measuring of temperature distributions.

As a motion sensor solution, RUTRONIK SMART is exhibiting the intelligent and very compact 24 GHz radar sensor module NJR4265 J1 from NJRC. With the aid of the embedded software, it senses the motion and direction of pedestrians over short distances among other aspects.

Rutronik sensor specialists will be on hand at the trade fair to advise visitors. For example, there will be a wireless expert available for advice on the best wireless solutions to suit smart applications, and a Rutronik24 field sales representative showing how simple and easy it is to place an order or request samples via the Rutronik24 e-commerce platform. This offers developers and procurers access to over a million products at customer-specific, up-to-date prices – including sensor components and modules as well as signal-processing solutions.
