Blaze of light
Fans of Europe’s biggest music event know about the great meaning the lighting technology has for this contest. In 2014 Conchita Wurst rose to victory with the shining wings of a phoenix in combination with an upward pointed spear made entirely from light. And in 2016 Jamal won with the song „1944“ that was underlined by a memorable and spectacular lightshow taking everybody’s breath away. Only to be topped by last year’s winner Salvador Sobral from Portugal with a lightshow that made you believe he was performing his ballad „Amar Pekis Dois“ in the middle of a melancholic forest.
The lighting experts from Osram are responsible for the right setting: For the fourth time in a row the company delivers the individual, innovative lighting solution for the Eurovision Song Contest. Furthermore Osram lights up several important landmarks of Portugal’s capital like the City Hall, the Castelo de Sao Jorge or the building at the Praca do Comércio during the event. In which color the buildings are illuminated is the decision of the audience which is voting through the official ESC-App. Depending on the score for each song the landmarks will be colored in an deep ocean blue or a fiery red.
Osram as highly innovative manufacturer puts not only the artists into the right light, but helps plants to grow with their OSLON-SSL-Colors-LED (https://www.rutronik.com/de/artikel/detail/News/beleuchtung-von-pflanzen-mit-kuenstlichem-licht-horticulture-lighting/). The concept of Horticulture Lighting describes the lighting of plants with artificial light and is supposed to solve the nutrition problems of future mega cities. The LEDs are available in eight different colors from the Rutronik24 online shop (https://www.rutronik24.com/category/led/manufacturer:OSRAM/move:0/qs:OSLON?_ga=2.97629980.2035068398.1520840527-696576254.1501082356) – so you can start the future of gardening in your home.
