Under lock and key

  Newsletter Article

Hiding the spare key in the flowerpot or beneath the doormat so that tradesmen can get into the house or the neighbors can water the plants when nobody is at home is an absolute classic. Rather stupidly, burglars are also familiar with this traditional hiding place and are more than happy to make off with rich pickings without having to work too hard for them.

With the Master Lock electronic key safe, there is now an alternative that is convenient for authorized third parties, while making it difficult for ne'er-do-wells to gain access to the home.

The safe weighs almost one kilo and has zinc housing. It provides room for several keys or entry cards and is weather-resistant, making it ideal for vacation homes, boats, hunting lodges, and more places besides. Access to the Master Lock is controlled with a smartphone app for Android and iOS. This allows users to give friends or tradesmen access to the safe while out and about and even limit access for a certain period of time - ideal for domestic aids, caregivers, and workmen. The app also allows users to track who has used their access rights at any given time.

The Master Lock measures 12.7 x 8.3 x 5.9 centimeters and is powered by a single CR123A battery, which is included. It is a brilliant alternative to the flowerpot.
