Rutronik Presents Distribution Art Car

  Corporate News

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH presented its Distribution Art Car yesterday evening in Karlsruhe. As the third-largest distributor in Europe, Rutronik serves as the link between customer and supplier. The art car project was jointly realized with 46 manufacturers from the electronics industry to raise awareness for Bundesverband Herzkranke Kinder e.V., a charity for children with heart conditions.

An art car is a fully functional car designed as an artwork. Artist Rudi Fielitz designed the Audi R8 LMS with 430kW (577HP), 5,200cm³ displacement and a Rutronik V10 motor, including in the process the logos of 46 companies. The design is what makes the art car so exceptional, in which function meets art meets advertising. It’s this combination that makes the art car so unique. Rudi Fielitz has already had his work on show in Karlsruhe, Munich, London and Brussels.

9,000 euros will be donated to Bundesverband Herzkranke Kinder e.V., and 25 children suffering from heart disorders will have the opportunity to experience the first race of the Distribution Art Car live on the Hockenheimring circuit on April 23 – including a look inside the pit stop and a chance to see the inside of the racecar for themselves.

The Distribution Art Car was ceremoniously unveiled in Karlsruhe yesterday, with the artist joined by driver Fabian Plentz in hosting the event. Plentz has already achieved a great number of racing victories, among them in the Sports Car Challenge, the European Sports Car Challenge as well as numerous wins in the 24 Hours Nürburgring, Hockenheim AvD 100 Miles, MINI Challenge, VW Polo Cup and VLN SP5 events. The HCB-Rutronik Racing Team will be competing with the Distribution Art Car in the DMV GTC GT series, and guest appearances at the Blancpain GT Series and the Macau Grand Prix 2016 are also planned.
