Easy connectivity, surefire security, reliable safety and facilitation of the creation of easy-to-use human-machine interfaces: The platform includes four different series of upward software-, architecture-, and pin-compatible Synergy MCUs. The advanced S7 Series (High Performance), S5 Series (High Integration), S3 Series (High Efficiency), and S1 Series (Ultra Low Power) MCUs utilize the popular ARM® Cortex®-M CPU architecture.

The S7G2 MCU integrates multiple series of software- and pin-compatible ARM-based 32-bit Units that share the same set of Renesas peripherals to facilitate design scalability and efficient platform-based product development. It provides a high-performance ARM Cortex-M4 core running up to 240 MHz.

Processing performance is balanced with large memory, connectivity, extensive built-in security and safety features, analog acquisition, and economical control of low-cost color TFT LCD panels for tackling many IoT applications. With a full connectivity suite, graphics engine, high precision data acquisition analog interfaces and an extensive number of packages, the S5 Series is targeted for use in advanced HMI and industrial applications.

Renesas Synergy™ Starter Kits (SK)

If you aim for high value at a very affordable price, the Starter Kit is for you: The kit provides an excellent introduction to the entire platform while covering the vast majority of MCU functions. This is most interesting for Developers who want to experiment, experience and evaluate the capabilities of the platform at minimal cost. Each Starter Kit provides access to most MCU pins and also provides function expansion via sets of connectors based on the Pmod™ standard and on the Arduino™ format for Arduino™ Shield plug-in boards.

Renesas Synergy™ Development Kits (DK)

Full access to all MCU features and pins for evaluating device performance, measuring power consumption, for building application software until the end-product's prototype hardware development platform is available, and even to expand capabilities by plugging in specialized circuit boards into Development Kits expansion connectors including industry standard Pmod™ connectors:

Development Kits are available for every series of Renesas Synergy™ microcontrollers. All Development Kits come with an on-board J-Link debugger as well as a Bluetooth Low Energy radio for wireless connection to a mobile device. The kits serve as a basis for the hardware platforms on which the Software Package is qualified and warranted.
