Littelfuse surface-mount SIDACtor® device protects telecom designs from damaging overvoltage transients

New series helps designs meet requirements for CPE Tip to Ring protection

SIDACtor SMA Series Protection Thyristors are designed to protect baseband designs such as phones, faxes, modems, line cards, CPE and DSL equipment from damaging overvoltage transients. This series provides a low-profile surface-mount solution that enables equipment to comply with global regulatory standards including TIA-968-A, TIA-968-B, ITU K.20/21 Enhanced Level, ITU K.20/21 Basic Level, GR-1089 Inter-building, GR-1089 Intra-building, IEC 61000-4-5, YD/T 1082, YD/T 993, and YD/T 950. It offers higher surge ratings than some comparable competitor devices. It fails short circuit when surged in excess of ratings, and its surge capacity won't be degraded by multiple surge events within limit.

Features & Benefits:

  • Peak off-state voltage range: 275V (*devices with peak off-state voltage from 6V and 170 to 320V in the family will be available Q1, 2012)
  • Low-profile surface-mountable package (SMA, DO 214AC) aids compact design and gives flexibility in assembly
  • Helps designs meet global regulatory standards: TIA-968-A, TIA-968-B, ITU K.20/21 Enhanced Level, ITU K.20/21 Basic Level, GR 1089 Inter-building, GR 1089 Intra-building, IEC 61000-4-5, YD/T 1082, YD/T 993, YD/T 950
  • Excellent performance characteristics including robust surge rating, low voltage overshoot, and low capacitance
