Rutronik and Infineon are organising a competition for developers of wireless solutions. At the „Wireless Design Contest“, they will award prizes for the best product developments in four categories: best remote control, most efficient hardware design, most innovative product idea and best protocol stack. The Design Contest award will also be an effective advertising incentive for every company. A jury of experts from Rutronik‘s Wireless Competence Centre and Infineon‘s Wireless Control Division will evaluate the developments received, and will measure and test these extensively.
Where appropriate, the experts will point out possible improvements and, in the end, will award prizes for the three best developments in each category.
Category: BEST REMOTE CONTROL range, ergonomics, special functions? ...why is your remote control the best?
Category: MOST EFFICIENT HARDWAREDESIGN low energy but long range – or short range with extra long battery life?
Category: MOST INNOVATIVE PRODUCT IDEA environment protection, security, comfort or high runner? How innovative is your product?
Category: BEST PROTOCOL STACK Our hardware is as good as your software is. How good is your software?
Rutronik and Infineon choose three winners per category:
1st: travel voucher of 500,-€ each 2nd: Netbook amounting to 250,-€ each 3rd: MP3-Player amounting to 50,-€ each
Special chance: Everyone who decided to use especially the PMA7110 within their application will also take part in a drawing to win a further travel voucher amounting to 500,-€.
Choose a product from www.infineon.com/wirelesscontrol for example the PMA7110: The PMA 7110 is optimally suited as a multiband transmitter with an integrated 8051 microcontroller, 10-bit AD converter and a 125kHz receiver. With only a few external components, it enables extensive functions for wireless transmission. Thanks to the SmartLEWIS™ technology, the European 433MHz and 868MHz bands and between the US frequencies of 315MHz and 915MHz are also supported. The integrated LF receiver can wake the PMA 7110 from sleep mode so that it will digitise an analogue reading and transmit it only upon specific request. Extensive tools, such as sample protocols, key fob reference design and application notes are available. In addition, an appropriate PMA 7110 development kit is reserved for the first 50 participants at a nominal fee of € 50. Development kits of other Infineon wireless chips can be purchased at the regular price via Rutronik.
After the registration and control you will get an e-mail with contacts of guys who will support you during the design phase.
The deadline for the registration to the Design Contest is the 31th july 2010. The hand over of your product and documentation must be done until 23th december 2010. The winners will be published at the 28th february 2011.
