Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH will be taking three speakers to the 3rd Passive Device User Forum in Munich on June 27 and 28. Three different sessions will address capacitors, inductors, and resistors. Markus Krieg, Managing Director Marketing at Rutronik, will be giving the keynote speech.

Krieg’s 30-minute keynote speech during the session on capacitors on Wednesday, June 27, from 1.30 p.m. will examine availability and allocation management: “As a distributor, we have to plan ahead to make sure that we are able to keep our customers supplied in spite of shortages. Allocation and long delivery times will be with us in 2018 and probably beyond. Both customers and distributors will have to face up to this. In my keynote speech, I will talk about how it is possible to confront these challenges,” says Krieg.

At 11.30 a.m., prior to the keynote speech, Jürgen Geier, field application engineer for ceramic capacitors, will give a 30-minute talk entitled “MLCC: Characteristics, but not guaranteed!” The talk examines the measurement of the correct capacity value of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). Simon Wachsmann, product sales manager for electrolytic, film, and tantalum capacitors, will talk between 4.15 and 4.45 p.m. on polymer hybrid capacitors in powertrain applications in the automobile. A further highlight of the event’s opening day is the panel discussion from 12 noon until 12.30 p.m. entitled “When even resistors are allocated! When will there be an end to the shortage?”
